Facebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedinmail

Having been approved at his 30 day test in Schlieckau for Oldenburg, Woodlander Freddie M, the top selling horse at Brightwells in 2013 with Bruce Mathews now a partner, however, he stays at home with his breeder Lynne Crowden at the Woodlander Stud, keeping it all in the family. Power, beauty and temperament are packed into this elastic and big moving young stallion. Woodlander Freddie M also was approved for WBS – UK in 2014, once more gaining particular merit for his movement. His is sire For Compliment, a fantastic mover himself with a great hind leg dynamic and an uphill carriage has passed this stamp to his son and Woodlander Freddie M’s performance test scores were excellent with one of the highest scores and marks over 9 for trot canter and ridability.

In 2010 Woodlander Freddie M’s sire For Compliment was Regional Champion and also qualified for the Bundeschampionat finishing in Bronze Medal position and a crowd favourite. Both Grandsires of Freddie M, Fidermark and Dimaggio, were Champions – one at the Bundeschampionat and the other at the World Championships for Young Horses. This convincing record is further strengthened by the legendary Caprimond and the dam sire of For Compliment, the quiet sire Compliment, who has produced many good high level horses including the powerful GP stallion Cockpit. He brings also the important blood of Calypso II.

From his dam’s line, (Elite Dornroeschen) carries the genetics of World Champion Dimaggio and has herself taken multiple National Championships and now competes Grand Prix. She was Small Tour Champion at Hartpury Festival of Dressage in 2013 and has heart stopping charm and movement especially in the canter. She is of course also the dam of double World Champion and continuing record breaker Woodlander Farouche.

This 16.hh Hanoverian stallion with Oldenburg and WBS-UK grading was born in 2011, so he is still a very young horse. You can see his profile on Horse Scout Stallion listings page under the Woodlander Stud banner here

Facebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedinmail

Freezing Rain is a young stallion on the way up.  Born in 2010 this 16.2hh handsome bay AES Stallion was bred at Paddock Woods Stud with Select Stallions, where international event rider Emily Llewellyn and Polo player and show jumper Max Routledge are based. This stud with second to none facilities is a family run stud near Godalming in Surrey where the Grand Prix show jumper Typhoon’s son Freezing Rain was bred in 2010.

Freezing Rains listing on Horse Scout’s Stallion pages has some fabulous pictures of Freezing Rain and his sire Typhoon S. Freezing rain was assessed in the UK by the KWPN inspectors and was allowed to attend the two KWPN stallion grading shows in Holland in 2012 and early 2013. This has made Freezing the first British bred stallion ever to reach this level. We are justifiably proud of this achievement. Ricky is only a 5 year old Stallion but he is already making a name for himself. His first foal born on the stud has been named Mr Rainmaker he and paddocks Woods say “ He is a beautiful stamp of foal and is really bright and bold in his temperament”.

Well Spotted – New Stallion at Country Farm Stud with an historic story

Facebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedinmail

Horse Scout Blogger noticed a new stallion standing at Country Farm Stud in Lancashire who is a Leopard Blanket Spot Sports Horse called Moorhey Tomahawk.

Horse Scout Bloggers’ mission today: Find out about the spotted horses, which are very popular on todays circuits. The European spotted horse has developed independently of the American spotted horse. Recent research has suggested that Eurasian prehistoric cave paintings depicting leopard-spotted horses may have accurately reflected a phenotype of ancient wild horse. Domesticated horses with leopard complex spotting patterns have been depicted in art dating as far back as Ancient Greece, Ancient Persia, and the Han Dynasty in China; later depictions appeared in 11th-century France and 12th-century England. French paintings from the 16th and 17th centuries show horses with spotted coats being used as riding horses, and other records indicate they were also used as coach horses at the court of Louis XIV of France.[ In mid-18th-century Europe, there was a great demand for horses with the leopard complex spotting pattern among the nobility and royalty. These horses were used in the schools of horsemanship, for parade use, and other forms of display. Modern horse breeds in Europe today that have leopard complex spotting include the Knabstrupper, first established in 1812 in Denmark. This breed is generally based on the warmblood and also the Baroque horses such as the Andalusian, Lipizzan and Lusitano breeds.
