Skipjack is a 6yr old grade Quarter Horse Gelding. He is a crime palomino with a dark patch and some dark golden showing through as he sheds out. He is a rescue who was previously abused by his first owner. The gentleman I bought him from purchased Skip because he was started as a heel horse. Due to his fear of men Skip ended up sitting in a pasture for two years instead of competing. Since I brought Skip home immediately following Hurricane Harvey he has gotten 20x better with men, and we are starting to discover that somewhere along the line he had really good training (or at least he still learned something from his abuser). Skip follows without a lead, walks through water, stands ground tied, neck reins, backs nicely, bends/flexes/gives to pressure... and rides bitless. Will update as we learn more.
