This horse loves to jump and is bold and extremely straight and genuine into a fence. He is by Silvano and out of an Irish mare.
He has 2 x DC this year in at Newcomers and qualified for second rounds for the Dodson and Horrell Amateur Finals in 1.05 and 1.10. I have just stepped up to 1.15. As I am in the Army I compete mainly for the Services (1.10 and 1.15) and qualified for Olympia Horse Show in 2017 where we were 5th last year and came 1st at Royal Windsor Horse Show this year in front of the Queen. He loves the big shows and always rises to the occasion. As so much of my jumping has been with the military he is still in British Novice but would easily jump Foxhunter tomorrow.
I started BE last year and he did 2 x DC at BE90 before he had some time off due to me having a baby. This year we completed another BE90 with a 3rd place qualifying for the Mitsubishi Motors Regional Final. We have done 2 x BE100s, DC and the other we had 1 pole SJ’ing but clear and fast cross country. He will easily go Novice by the end of the season and has all the talent and attitude to compete at intermediate level.
He is a lovely hunter who stands nicely and can go fast all day and jump the biggest hedges. He keeps his condition throughout the season and never runs up. Whatever you want to do with Smurf he will deliver and you will have so much fun and success with him and win many rosettes.
I look after him and take him to competitions single handedly. Box, shoe, clip, trim and pulling (mane and tail) and he is a gentleman. I am a complete amateur and the results we have had are not a reflection of my riding but of how good this horse is. It is a really hard and heartbreaking decision to sell him but with full time work and a 9 month old baby, Smurf is not getting the attention or the competing he deserves. Competitive, busy home required for this talented, fun horse.
