Home bred from successful flat racing mare by dual purpose sire, El Conquistador, 'Dex' was originally in training with Alan King and destined for a National Hunt career but a change in circumstances saw him divert to eventing. He was initially ridden by Mike Jackson then Carlos Parro before he retired.
