Rosie 15.3hh 9 years old Warmblood X Irish bay mare who is AES registered. Princess Rosie is a lovely mare that is a pleasure to have on the yard. She has 3 brilliant paces and would do really well in dressage with the right rider and consistent work as she prefers to sparkle the dressage judges than to jump. To hack Rosie is good and forward, proving safe in heavy traffic. We’ve cantered in open spaces and had no problems, she can however like most get slightly excited when in big company, however, this is something we think she would settle over time if done regularly. She’s never strong or spooky however can be sharp and chuck in the odd buck and for this reason, we would not class her as a novice ride.
Rosie was sold to me with the intention of eventually eventing however after having her for a good few months it is clear that this is not something she would enjoy. It is clear that something has knocked her confidence along the line and now she doesn’t enjoy jumping. Saying this she has been ridden by my coach and will jump but needs a strong rider which is something I feel I am not, therefore I don’t want to make the problem worst hence the reason of this heartbreaking sale.
This is a sad sale as I truly adore this mare but I want to event and I can’t commit to keeping 2 otherwise she would be staying.We will continue to compete Rosie in dressage until she is sold. She has been out recently 6th September where she behaved impeccably scoring in the early 60’s for prelim 15. Test sheet available to view.
