Dex is a 15.2 coloured 5 year old gelding Cob. Dex was brought over from Ireland last year and had spent the last 9 months continuing his education in many disciplines. Dex is very sensible, has a cool head and is obedient to his aids.
Dex has competed in unaffiliated dressage, he has three nice, flowing paces and with more work he will begin to develop and elevate himself for better marks. He has never scored under 63%, in his last outing he scored 67% in his first novice test! He has also done a small course of fences, both showjumping and cross country. He has done multiple lessons and clinics. He is impeccably behaved in a busy environment, never strong or silly when put in new circumstances.
He is bombproof in traffic, he has spent the last 9 months on a busy farm yard so big/heavy traffic does not faze him. He makes a fantastic nanny for young or nervous horses. Will meet and greet others on rides and will leave and split with them no problem. Fantastic with gates and small spaces, etc. Will go first or last with no arguments and stand when asked.
Dex is a pleasure to have on the yard, good manners on the floor and on board and has a lovely temperament. Not selling for a child but is fantastic around children and unhorsey people!
Fantastic to bath, hosepipe, shoe, physio, vet and travel. He is slightly nervous around clippers so have sedated him to prevent him from stressing. However, with more time, trust and maturity I’m positive he will come round to the idea and will stand to be clipped.
Dex would make an ideal Hunter, mother/daughter share or low level competition horse. He is looking for someone to carry on his education and give him more experience in a particular trade therefore please no novices! A lovely stamp of a horse who is looking for a job to excel in. He is for sale through no fault of his own but his jockey is heading off to join the army so has lack of time to carry on his education.
Will only be sold to a 5 star experienced home, so please no time wasters!
