Beaumont Delius ("Teddy") is bred by Beaumont Stud in Northamptonshire and is an unbacked three year old bright bay British Warmblood gelding. He is fairly compact and will make around 16.2hh, being just over 16hh now.
Teddy's sire is Dvorak (De Niro x Florestan) who competed at elementary and medium levels in the summer and winter nationals in 2021, placing 4th in the winter medium silver. Dvorak is well known for his willing temperament and rideability. Dvorak's dam St. Pr. Fame reached Inter I level and was winter national champion at advanced medium.
Teddy's dam Ciaroscuro is a German Hanoverian mare by the Trakehner stallion Connery. She reached advanced medium level before a field accident curtailed her competitive career - she is still sound and going strong at age 17. Her grandmother was the great German bundeschampion riding horse St. Pr. Pikantje.
Teddy has a quick brain and loves having a job. As a two year old we sent him to Emma Woolley at WSC Dressage, Keysoe to receive his basic early training.
He picked up groundwork, gentle lunging and long reining very quickly. Since then he has been left to grow and mature until late summer.
He came in to start some more ground work and is now happily lunging and long reining. He is now ready to back (not yet sat on). We will continue his education and go through the backing process unless he is sold in advance.
Teddy will make a very competitive dressage horse for a good amateur or a professional rider. He is unlikely to make much more than 16.2hh.
