In a sport where the horse provides such a strong focal point, performance psychology plays an important role in helping the rider measure and improve their own performance. Typically this involves working with riders and their support networks (coaches and support teams) to deal effectively with the specific and varied demands of equestrian sport and to optimise their performance environment. Charlie as worked with competitors from novice to Olympic level and continues to work with Juniors and Young Riders from GB's Eventing and Dressage European Teams.
Charlie draws upon his unique background in Performance Psychology to help individuals and teams perform at their best when it counts. Charlie has worked with coaches and athletes from 5 Olympic teams, global businesses and the military elite.
“Most of my clients are extremely talented in their fields. I work alongside them and their support teams to accelerate their learning and enable them to perform more consistently whilst under pressure. Psychology research in this field has exploded over the last 20 years and it’s a great privilege to help ambitious individuals and teams capitalise from it.”
Charlie provides performance psychology support for the GB Teams and individual riders across all three of the main equestrian sports (Dressage, Show-Jumping and Eventing).
