The journeys on horseback take in much of the Wild Atlantic Way route and the breath taking beauty of Connemara’s mountains, lake and Atlantic coastline. The experience focuses as much on the culture of Connemara as the horse riding on offer. Riders will re-live a story each day and gain an insight into the tradition and crafts of Connemara. You will be immersed in the Connemara way of life and will ride on a native Connemara pony. The accommodation is luxurious yet homely as you will stay in some of Ireland’s finest country houses and castles. They offer award winning dining experiences, a high quality of service and many on site facilities. A family run business, Connemara Equestrian Escapes has a long history of breeding equines and a successful competition record at national level. Its homebred Connemara ponies are bred specifically for their extra height, kind temperament, sure-footedness and often quirky character. A reliable breed of Irish Draught horses is also available for taller riders. All staff are enrolled in The British Horse Society Equestrian Tourism Certification Program.
