Traineeship/ Apprenticeship position available

We have a self-contained yard of 17 boxes offering various livery types, predominately full livery. We have a tack room, feed room and facilities onsite include large outdoor arenas, gallops, xc field, farm ride and hacking. We are based within Kelsall Hill EC which runs BE competitions during the year. We have a few liveries who event, the area we are in is well supported by Eventers and Racing. Over time the yard will move slightly away from livery and will begin to produce young horses for sale, aimed at show jumping and dressage. As more facilities are built at the site the yard will also begin to organise more clinics, training and competitions. As a yard manager, I am specifically interested in straightness training, moving horses to barefoot and producing youngsters for sale and working with problem horses, as well as competing. The yard has been developed over the last 18 months and is still in it’s infancy, I’m looking for people who are interested in similar things to myself and who are open to new was of working. You don’t need to come with any skills but a very keen interest in horses and competing as well as a logical brain and a calm nature with a good sense of humour are far more important that previous experience. Full range of stable/yard duties to include: • Turning out/bringing horses in • Mucking out/Skipping out as necessary, field maintenance • Feeding • Grooming/horse care • Tack cleaning •General yard cleaning Riding will be available for the right person, also the option to get involved with the organising of clinics and schooling horses from the ground if interested. Monday to Friday approx 8am to 3pm (30 hrs per week)
