Northcote Stud

Simply put, Northcote Stud is one of the North's largest and newest livery yards and show centers. Our amazing and highly experienced team of staff are carefully chosen based on their work ethic and expertise to compliment our world class facilities, which have been endorsed by riders who have competed at both nations cup and Olympic level in dressage and showjumping. The yard itself is owned and managed by Richard and Janet Mizon, who originally built the yard to act as a base for their son Andrew who was competing regularly at international level as a showjumper. Whilst Andrew still competes, he has taken a step back in recent years in order to help establish the yard among one of the best in the country and to breed and train his own string of competition horses. The Mizon family and their carefully selected team handle the day to day running of the yard which has been a successful livery yard and training centre for many a horse lover in the Ribble Valley and beyond, with visits from several stars of the equestrian world including two-time British Olympic showjumper Geoff Billington and Olympic Dressage rider Joanna Jackson. In late 2012 Northcote Stud was granted permission to begin running competitons and has since had great success in this new venture. The Stud prides itself on sparing no expense on the most modern and top of the range facilities and equpiment with a fantastic Andrews Bowen indoor and outdoor arena surface, hydrotherapy spa, ice therapy units and two state of the art solariums. However, we realise that fancy gadgets and top class facilities is not enough to provide the quality of service you expect and deserve, this is why we choose our team so carefully to provide the greatest breadth and depth of experience possible. Both Janet and Richard have over 30 years or experience with horses and have seen competition at all levels, their son Andrew has been involved with horses his entire life. If you add together the number of years our staff have been involved with horses you can clock up over a century of experience, which is nothing short of incredible. Northcote Stud truly is where modern technology and traditional horsemanship combine, providing a unique and truly fantastic environment for you and your horses for many years to come.
