The Grove Riding School is a fully licensed and insured facility offering lessons for all ages from 4 to 74! We have both an outdoor and an indoor school as well as a wide variety of XC schooling fences. Our hacking is completely off road on a private estate and we have horses suitable for all standards. For the very young we offer Tots Trots, a trip through fields and woods for 15mins on a pony with leaders and parents. From around 6 we begin teaching you to ride, starting with Lead Rein classes where you will learn all about your ponies, how to sit on them and basic control. Once you have mastered the basics you will be moved up to Off Lead Rein where you get to have the pony all to yourself! And then Open Order in which you will be taught how to control your pony when not following the others. Learn to Canter - anyone want to guess what you learn in this one?! If you got that right then you may already have guessed that Learn to Jump follows on! Or why not have your Birthday at the stables!! You can invite your friends no matter if they are riders or not and come spend a couple hours playing ponies and generally having fun in the countryside! Adults - we teach all standards, maybe you always wanted to ride and never got around to it or maybe you used to ride as a child and feel the urge to give it another crack or possibly are experienced but looking for a new place for lessons, either way we have a horse for you so come and have a go. We here at the grove are very pleased to offer lessons with Dressage instructor Jill Timms! Jill is a Grand Prix dressage rider based in Penn, Buckinghamshire. She has represented England at two Home Internationals and has competed at numerous Winter and Summer Nationals. Jill competes regularly at Int2 and GP on her own horse, Rebel, and trains with Olympic rider Vicki Thompson and Germanys team trainer Jo Hinneman. She now enjoys teaching a wide and successful client base and is resident at the grove two days a week. We are open for bookings either on your own horses or on ours and for riders of all levels, don't think you have to be in training for Rio to benefit from some dressage instruction!! Jill also Teaches our staff so we can thoroughly recommend her!
