Description

Sweet Auburn Coaching provides ethical, evidence-based coaching and training to horses and riders in the Hampshire/Wiltshire area.

About Me:

I have trained horses up to 1* level eventing, and coached riders up to Novice level. My experience as an international groom/head groom for riders such as Karin Donckers and Lisa Sabbe, as well as Constantin Van Rijckevorsel and Sam Watson, have given me a well established background in managing and training international event horses. 

My Methods:

My approach to training is based on three principles:

1. using the aids to communicate, not coerce
2. the pace of training is dictated by the horse's curiosity for new stimuli/experiences, not the rider's ambitions
3. understanding the cognitive abilities of the horse in order to understand their learning process, minimising stressful experiences during training

Ethos and about me	I will first establish what your objectives are, for both yourself and your horse, and work to break these down into achievable steps throughout sessions. These objectives may be aimed towards competition participation/results, or overcoming any behavioural/motivation issues that are currently causing otherwise 'stagnant' riding sessions that you may be experiencing.
