Description

Just as you get aches and pains that stop you from doing your day to day tasks, so do your animals. However we are able to verbalise these aches and pains and do something about it, but your pet relies on you to make these decisions. We all know how easy it is to injure yourself through exercise, or even reaching down to pick up the children’s toys – it’s just as easy for your beloved pet to become injured too.

Some ways in which your animal can demonstrate their pain:

  • Lameness/limping
  • Changes in behavior
  • Yelping/noise
  • Panting
  • Subdued nature

So how can we help? As physiotherapists, we have a wealth of knowledge, training and experience in treating humans, horses and hounds, cats and cows too! We use the same treatment techniques that you may have experienced if you have seen a physiotherapist yourself – yes dogs need core stability as well! Just as elite human athletes or the couch potato need maintenance by physiotherapists, so do your beloved pets.

Working closely with the vets, we are able to work in your own home, at a livery yard, in a hydrotherapy pool or in your veterinary practice; whichever is easiest for you.

TREATMENTS

  • Joint mobilisations, soft tissue release and massage

If you feel your beloved pet, whether it be your dog, horse, cat or something more exotic, would benefit from a physiotherapy assessment, please do not hesitate to contact Miranda – she will be glad to answer any questions you may have.
