Description

The old adage “No Foot, No Horse” has never been more true than today!

You may have been drawn to this site because you’re interested in the barefoot approach to hoof care. Maybe you are frustrated with traditional approaches, or you are simply fascinated to hear more about the barefoot buzz that’s circling in the equine world!

What is Equine Podiatry?

Equine Podiatry is the study of the equine foot and everything that affects its function and usability. It is a holistic, science-based approach to caring for your horse’s feet without the use of traditional metal shoes.

As well as applying a suitable barefoot trim, I will review other factors such as diet and environment that may affect the hoof. Working closely with you the owner and making recommendations regarding any changes that might lead to an improvement in overall hoof health, quality and usability. These changes may include changes to what surfaces the horse walks on, what it is fed, what equipment the horse wears, where it is ridden and how often. I may also recommend that you consult with professionals in other equine specialist fields, such as Vets, Body Workers, Nutritionists, and occasionally Remedial Farriers.

The science of Equine Podiatry provides the knowledge required for a sounder future for all horses. The training, experience and quality of service that I provide will put your mind at ease, knowing that your best friend will receive the highest quality of care and that their welfare will be of my upmost priority.
