Alcott Farm

Birmingham, Worcestershire
Alcott Farm is a high standard livery yard. It is run day to day by our Yard Manager Di, her partner Mark who has come from a racing background, and have been with us for over 20 years, with help from a small staff. Our stables are a mixture of brick built, facing our courtyard, or inside a large barn where the stables are a selection of sizes to suit your horse. All stables have automatic drinkers, however if your horse is not one for this, we have no problem with providing alternative drinking sources i.e. buckets. Inside the barn is the horse walker, which is fantastic if the weather is too bad to ride, and your horse needs some exercise. Also inside the barn there is a kitchen area with microwave, fridge / freezer, washing machine, and tea & coffee making facilities. We also have a separate toilet. There are 3 lockable tack rooms serving the yard, 2 within the barn and 1 on the front yard, for you to use. There is also the facility to store more of your equestrian items in our large, secure loft area, located in the barn. Outside we have a 60m x 40m rubber, all weather, floodlit ménage. On our land John has built a cross country course which has jumps that are suitable for all levels. During the summer months, we have fields on site that we open up for you to ride on, including a very large "hill" field to work those muscles! Our location provides many miles of quiet country lane hacking, with access to many bridlepaths, but also providing easy travelling to Solihull Riding Club, Alvechurch Riding Club, and the motorway network. We have secure lorry parking for your vehicle / trailer. All of Alcott Farm is covered by CCTV, which is recorded. As we live on site there is 24 hour attendance. You are welcome to use your own farrier / vet / dentist / etc, however we can provide details of recommended services if you require. We have visiting instructors regularly, as well as having John Poole on site, but again you are welcome to use your own instructor. Our turnout is in small groups, however, if required, we can provide an individual turnout paddock for recuperating horses. We now have another on-site trainer / instructor: Anne Bielemeier. Anne is BHS Qualified, and has returned to Alcott Farm after having some time away whilst her horse grew up! He is now being ridden and trained by Anne. She is also conducting regular clinics at Alcott Farm, including show jumping, and cross country.
