Description

Sula Blue will be combining stud duties with competing under the purview of both British Eventing and British Dressage. In his career to date, he has proven to be one of the most consistent horses in the west-country up to BE Intermediate level, easily qualifying for the Intermediate championships 2013 where he finished in forth place. This year has seen him step up to 2* and advanced level, Sula Blue excels across the country, delivering bold clear rounds throughout the 2013 season. His athleticism allows him to achieve the increasingly necessary speed in this phase, while his elegance and eye-catching carriage make him a regular judge’s favourite in the dressage arena. He has competed at British Dressage, amassing 37 BD points in only a few outings , winning his first elementary in January and has hunted regularly. We have taken care to produce him slowly and carefully, resulting in his extremely willing attitude and his remarkable focus when at competitions. We consider him to have all the necessary attributes to make a top event horse, he ended the season with a 2nd in his first CCI 2* qualifying him to compete at 3* level next season. Sula Blue is an absolutely genuine horse with a wonderful temperament combining both an eager attitude to work with a kind nature. His movement is both correct and expressive on the flat, he is both careful and scopey in the SJ arena and he has plenty of scope to continue up the levels as his career advances. His response to every challenge he has faced so far in the competition arena has been a consistent stepping-up of his performance level, signifying that above all Sula Blue is extremely trainable . We feel he will suit a wide variety of mares, and believe he gives breeders a unique opportunity to inject good old fashioned national hunt blood into their breeding plans, true national hunt breeding is quite rare to find in modern breeding but is necessary for the speed and stamina required in a top event horse, his sire Sula Bula was a tough and consistent racehorse, winning under all three codes of racing and retiring sound to enjoy life on the hunting field, his maternal grandsire Ascertain was a H.I.S premium stallion, a sire of numerous show hunters and event horses, he was known to produce clean limbed stock with good movement and excellent temperaments and a good work ethic, we feel these qualities are a huge part of Sula Blues success in his career and are the qualities he in turn passes on to his progeny He can also be found on facebook. or his website www.nuppend-stud.co.uk
