Description

I am freelance, and have worked with horses under saddle for over twenty years now, and in harness for nearly ten, as a groom, work rider, and later, coachman. Happily work sole charge/ part of a team/ managing yard. My passion is the pursuit of the art of horsemanship, always striving to understand how to build a better working relationship with the horse, based on compassion and understanding. I hold a BSc (Hon) degree in Animal Behaviour, and previously worked and trained at The Royal Mews in London. I have a particular strength in starting young horses, and rehabilitating/ re-training horses that are struggling to overcome some of life's challenges, beginning with in-hand/ ground/ lunge work, long-reining, and building into learning the skills needed for the horses career. In working under saddle, I can also school, hack out, jump, ride cross-country. Working in harness, I can drive singles/ pairs, and ride postillion.
