Description

Wessex Starring Role has a wonderful calm disposition with great presence and movement.  He is arguably one of the most prolific Show Champions of recent years in Sports Horse, Riding Horse and Hunter breeding classes demonstrating his versatility.  He is ideal to breed Hacks, Riding Horses, Intermediates, Small Hunters & Sports Horses.  Undoubtedly he will produce stars of the future.

His Sire proved very popular on all types of mares from polo ponies to draught types and thoroughbreds and was responsible for producing horses for the show ring, dressage horses and eventers whilst his grand sire, Rolfe sired over one hundred winners both on the Flat and National Hunt including Might Flutter (3rd in the Derby), Tree Poppy, Dun Gay Lass, General Wolfe & Lady Rebecca.

 

His Dam, Cawkwell Win, herself a Champion Hunter Brood Mare was an exceptional well mannered hunter and bold lead team chase horse.  Her two full brothers, Cawkwell Dean and Cawkwell Tom each won 11 and 10 Point to Points respectively.
