Description

This striking buckskin dressage pony has proved to be outstanding throughout his competitive career, scoring 70%+ in the FEI Pony Tests at International competitions and representing GB in the European Pony Championships in 2006 & 2007. He also posted scores in excess of 70% at Medium level competition, winning the Medium Open Summer Regionals in 2006. At the National Finals, in the always highly competitive Medium Open and ridden by one of the youngest of the 35 competitors, he was 7th, ahead of British Senior Team riders & horses that have gone on to do well at Grand Prix level. His sire, Donnerwetter, is a son of St Pr Kaprice who took the Bundeschampion title in 1990, and on his sire-side is a descendant of Dandy, the stallion considered to be the foundation of the prolific German Riding Pony 'D' Line. His dam-sire, Night-Star I was the Champion of the Grading in 1983 and is also the dam-sire of 2011 GB International Pony, Danger 36. Donnerblitz has proved himself as a breeding stallion, producing many successful winners, state premium mares, and approved breeding stallions in Germany. In 2001 he sired the State Premium mare 'Hesselteichs Dancing Queen', the dam of the 2011 Champion Westfalian Pony Stallion 'Hesselteichs Grimaldi' and licensed stallion 'Hesselteichs Blue Angel'. Donnerblitz's licensed sons include 'Hesselteichs Golden Dream', who sired three of the top five finalists in the 2011 Bundeschampionate for 3YO Riding Ponies - including the Champion and Reserve, alongside the Westfalian Premium Stallion 'Golden Rock'. Donnerblitz's temperament is second to none and is exceptional to handle in every way.
